Babar Ali Foundation was established in 1985 with only one thought which was to educate everyone in Pakistan. The object for this was to help needy students, support education, research and training in the literary, agricultural, scientific and technical fields. Its objectives are widespread from the support and promotion of welfare of communities and underprivileged people, to establishing and assisting institutions, libraries and hospitals and undertaking measures for the diffusion of knowledge and expertise. The foundation also administers appropriate programmes, prizes and scholarships for education in general and for advance scientific and management studies in particular. A lot of attention is also given to educating females in Pakistan so every year a part of the income is set aside for awarding ‘SYEDA MUBARIK BEGUM SCHOLARSHIPS’ (named after the late mother of Syed Babar Ali) to female students at the graduate and post- graduate levels who have excellent academic records, and are in need of financial assistance without which they cannot pursue their studies satisfactorily and show an inclination towards working for the uplift of women. As Syed Babar Ali says, ‘Educating a boy educates an individual but educating a girl educates a family’.
