On account of the International Day of Forests, celebrated globally on 21st March, a symbolic plantation drive was conducted at the UET KSK campus in collaboration with WWF. Employees from the Lahore & Kasur Cluster — PCL, Bulleh Shah Packaging Pvt. Ltd. (BSP), Starch Pack (Pvt.) Ltd. PL, OmyaPack Pvt. Ltd. PL, DIC Pakistan Limited, Packages Mall & IGI General Insurance Ltd. actively participated in this initiative.
As part of our broader commitment to ecosystem restoration, Packages Group has planted over 145,000 trees to date, including 15,000 mangrove plantations, contributing to biodiversity conservation and climate resilience across Pakistan.
Through our ongoing partnership with WWF – Pakistan under the “Rung Do Pakistan” initiative, we continue to support afforestation and environmental awareness efforts, reinforcing our role in building a greener future.
International Day of Forests highlights the importance of forests in sustaining biodiversity, improving air quality, combating climate change, and supporting livelihoods worldwide. This activity also contributes towards Sustainable Development Goals including Climate Action (SDG 13), Life on Land (SDG 15), and Sustainable Cities & Communities (SDG 11).
